Free For All Eye Camps in Azad Kashmir
Most of Azad Kashmir lies in the green and fertile Himalayan Mountains. It’s vast valleys, rugged terrain and lush forests make one of the most beautiful regions of the world. However, the same breathtaking landscape lacks infrastructure, and regular landslides place the lives of the locals in serious peril. Moreover, most of Azad Kashmir consists of villages, and the only available healthcare facilities are present in faraway towns. Hence, villagers almost never go for regular check-ups. The only time when someone visits the hospital is in cases of extreme sickness or emergencies.
From the 5th till 7th of October, Tabeer Welfare initiative Conducted its first Project in collaboration with Al- Shifa Eye Hospital. There were three, one-day camps organized in Singola and Banbaik Bazaar Azad Kashmir. More than 1000 People received free Eye Check-ups. Anyone diagnosed with weak eyesight, Cataract or other eye diseases was provided with free glasses, medicines or referrals to AL- Shifa Eye Hospital in Rawalpindi for free treatments.
Alhamdulillah, the project was a great success, and I would like to thank all our team members for all their efforts. Daily Summary Reports can be viewed in releated posts.
We intend to continue by working on at least 3 Projects next year. Anyone who wishes to join us or has an idea for a feasible project can send us a message. Please keep in mind that long before we started this project, it was only an idea. However, today when we look at the pictures taken, we realize that if we had not made an effort towards that first step, many of these people would still be suffering without proper treatments and medication. In fact, most would not even know that there is something wrong with their eyes. May ALLAH help us and allow us to continue our work.
